Sweef Capital is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Anabela Correia as Director, based in Australia.

Dr. Correia will play a strategic role in deepening Sweef’s cross-regional engagement between Australia and Southeast Asia, strengthening commercial pathways, investor relationships, and operating networks across both markets. Her appointment enhances Sweef’s ability to support portfolio companies and ecosystem partners in building scalable businesses that leverage opportunities across the region.

Based in Australia, Dr. Correia will serve as a key point of connectivity between Australian and Southeast Asian stakeholders,  supporting collaboration between investors, founders, corporates, and research institutions. Her role will contribute to identifying cross-border growth opportunities, facilitating market access, and strengthening commercial linkages that benefit both regions.

With extensive experience in healthcare commercialisation, capital strategy, governance, and go-to-market execution, Dr. Correia will support ventures operating in healthcare and adjacent sectors, helping them navigate regulatory environments, partnership development, and international expansion pathways. Her expertise reinforces Sweef’s long-standing focus on sectors aligned with demographic growth, sustainability, and inclusive economic development.

Her appointment also strengthens alignment with broader regional economic priorities, including Australia’s growing engagement with Southeast Asia through expanded trade, investment, and innovation partnerships. By building practical bridges between markets, Sweef Capital aims to contribute to mutually beneficial growth across Australia and the ASEAN region.

Dr. Correia joins Sweef Capital drawn by the firm’s disciplined approach to building commercially robust businesses grounded in gender-lens and climate-informed investment principles, an area where Sweef has earned recognition as a regional leader. Her appointment reinforces Sweef’s commitment to inclusive, long-term and accessible healthcare solutions in the region.

In addition to her role at Sweef, Dr. Correia is the Founder of InnerMaven, a healthcare commercialisation firm she established in 2009. Over her career, she has secured capital and built partnerships with multinational funders and leading medical device, diagnostics, and pharmaceutical companies. Her background spans venture capital, technology commercialisation, and corporate strategy, with a consistent focus on translating innovation into commercially sustainable enterprises.

Dr. Correia holds a PhD in Medicine from Monash University, alongside postgraduate qualifications in management, finance, entrepreneurship, and commercialisation.

Commenting on the appointment, Jennifer Buckley, Founder and Managing Partner of Sweef Capital, said:

“Australia and Southeast Asia are entering a new phase of economic engagement, with significant opportunity to strengthen cross-border investment, innovation, and sector collaboration. Anabela’s appointment enhances our ability to build practical bridges between these markets — supporting companies to scale sustainably while contributing to long-term regional growth. Dr. Correia’s depth in healthcare commercialisation and governance will add important capability as we continue expanding our presence across Asia-Pacific.”

“Sweef Capital’s commitment to building purpose-driven, commercially strong businesses deeply resonates with me,” said Dr. Correia. “I look forward to strengthening collaboration between Australia and Southeast Asia, supporting ventures that deliver meaningful health outcomes while creating sustainable growth across the region.”

Dr. Correia’s appointment marks an important step in reinforcing Sweef Capital’s cross-regional platform, aligning commercial opportunity with inclusive, long-term economic development across Australia and Southeast Asia.
