Sweef Capital today announced a strategic partnership with Avisena Healthcare Group, marking the fourth transaction under its Southeast Asia Women’s Economic Empowerment Fund (SWEEF). The partnership supports the continued expansion of a regional hospital platform serving industrial and peri-urban communities across West Java.
Investing in Structural Healthcare Demand
West Java is home to approximately 51.7 million people, yet hospital bed density remains at approximately 0.85 beds per 1,000 population — below international benchmarks. Access to specialist-led secondary care remains constrained outside major urban centres, creating sustained demand for well-managed, capacity-driven healthcare providers.
In industrial corridors surrounding Bandung, including Cimahi, public hospitals frequently operate beyond capacity. Dense working populations — many covered by BPJS Kesehatan, Indonesia’s national health insurance programme — face referral bottlenecks, long travel times, and overcrowded facilities.
Sweef Capital’s strategic partnership with Avisena Healthcare Group reflects conviction in scalable, regionally embedded healthcare platforms positioned to address these structural gaps.
Building a Community-Grounded Hospital Platform
Avisena Healthcare Group was founded in 2010 by Dr Lia Yuliana Elsis, beginning as a maternity clinic and general practice facility in Cimahi. The platform has since expanded to four hospitals across West Java and achieved five-star Paripurna accreditation in 2023, reflecting strong adherence to national standards of clinical quality and patient safety.
Strategically located to improve access to care, Avisena serves diverse surrounding communities with essential secondary care services, including maternal and child health, chronic disease management, surgical services, and emergency care. Beyond hospital services, the Group conducts preventive health outreach and education programs, strengthening early detection and improving health literacy across surrounding communities.
Strengthening Operational Scale and Governance
Sweef Capital will work alongside management to strengthen governance systems, enhance financial and clinical reporting frameworks, optimise operational processes, and support disciplined capacity expansion.
Planned initiatives include increasing hospital bed capacity, upgrading medical equipment, expanding specialist coverage, and developing workforce capabilities. These initiatives are expected to reduce waiting times, improve service quality, expand BPJS patient access, and ease pressure on public referral hospitals.
