Singapore-based impact investment firm Sweef Capital has established a new international advisory network to support it through its next phase of growth.

The Sweef Capital Advisory Network (SCAN) brings together an expanded group of leading practitioners in funds management, private equity, sustainability, impact, and diversity.

SCAN replaces the Board of Advisors that has supported Sweef since its establishment two years ago.

Distinguished private equity specialist Sherwood Dodge joins the SCAN after more than seven years as Global Head of Private Equities at the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority, the United Arab Emirates’ $700B+ sovereign wealth fund. Before this, Mr Dodge spent more than 25 years with GE, where he held senior positions across its financial services businesses globally.

Mr. Dodge will also join Sweef Capital’s Investment Committee for its Asia-Pacific Women’s Economic Empowerment Fund (SWEEF), which is currently being deployed. Sweef recently made its first investment in TEKY, a leading multidisciplinary innovation academy in Vietnam.

Also coming onboard as a SCAN member is Matthew Collingridge, an accomplished healthcare growth leader, and new Country Advisors with deep business expertise who will expand Sweef’s geographic coverage.

Sweef Managing Director, Jennifer Buckley, thanked outgoing Board members Patience Marime-Ball and Jens Bisgaard-Frantzen for their contributions, and Professor Rosemary Addis AM in her role as Chair. She said Sweef was delighted Professor Addis would lead impact markets and strategies going forward, and that the firm was able to retain Dr. Pamela Ryan and Junko Yoda in their new SCAN roles.

Given Dr Ryan’s role as a pioneering impact investor, Ms Buckley said, Sweef was excited she would be leading on impact investment for Asia-Pacific and North America.

Advisory network members are strongly aligned with Sweef’s vision and values and have committed to support the firm’s mission and performance.

“SCAN enables us to draw upon additional expertise and access global and local networks, partnerships and connections,” Ms Buckley said.

“This enhances Sweef’s competitive positioning and strategic capacity with a unique mix of expertise and experience. It enables us to make better investment decisions informed by deeper understanding of the communities and markets we operate and invest in, and identify unique opportunities to partner globally and locally.”
