The United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) and Sweef Capital have formalised a partnership to catalyse women’s entrepreneurship through impact investing in Asia. The partners will work to unlock growth capital for small and medium enterprises, through the development and management of private equity impact funds targeting women as business owners, leaders, employees, and consumers. As part of the Catalysing Women’s Entrepreneurship (CWE) Project, ESCAP provided support to Sweef Capital, enabling them to carry out two gender-lens investments in Vietnam.
Sweef Capital was established with the assistance of the Women Enterprise Impact Investment Fund, a program implemented by ESCAP under the CWE project, with financial support from the Government of Canada through Global Affairs Canada.
