Singapore-based impact investment firm Sweef Capital has been recognised for its pioneering social impact work in the 2025 Australian Impact Investment Awards.
Organised by the Impact Investing Hub, the annual awards are a highlight of Australia’s impact investment calendar and honour key contributors in categories including market building, impact enterprises, impact asset management and asset ownership. Award nominees are judged by a panel of eminent industry figures.
Sweef Capital Managing Director, Ms Jennifer Buckley, received an Individual Outstanding Achievement award, and Sweef Capital was highly commended in the new Emerging Markets Impact Investment of the Year category, sponsored by the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT).
Ms Buckley, who was in Sydney for the award ceremony, said the public recognition was both humbling and thrilling.
“These awards celebrate the tireless efforts of visionary individuals, organisations and governments over many years to accelerate the growth and success of the impact investment industry,” she said. “We’re now seeing the outcomes of that work in terms of the breadth and diversity of portfolios, greater buy-in from investors, and increasingly sophisticated policies designed to support innovation and amplify positive impact.”
Established in 2021, Sweef Capital is a recognised leader in driving positive impact through investment in promising women-led businesses Under Ms Buckley’s leadership, the firm developed the Gender ROITM diagnostic, a data-driven tool that assesses how gender inclusion in business leadership, workforce participation, and supply chains influences financial and operational performance. By helping businesses integrate gender-smart strategies, the tool provides insights that drive both social and economic returns.
Ms Buckley acknowledged the support of DFAT in Sweef Capital’s journey to date, and the work of the firm’s team of Australian advisers.
“Sweef Capital’s success is due to our amazing team, our incredible advisers and our farsighted clients, collaborators and partners,” she said. “Our experience is that incredible things happen when people come together to work, resolutely, with a shared sense of purpose.”
