Singapore-based impact investment firm Sweef Capital has announced two new members for its global advisory network supporting the firm’s strategic growth agenda.
Established in 2021, Sweef Capital is a recognised leader in driving positive impact through investment in promising women-led businesses in the Asia-Pacific region. The Sweef Capital Advisory Network (SCAN) brings together prominent professionals with expertise in fund management, private equity, entrepreneurship development, governance and risk management as well as impact and diversity.
The two new advisors, Ms Yasmin Wirjawan and Mr Haike Manning, will help fill key specialist gaps in risk management, sustainability, regional government relations and public affairs.
Ms Wirjawan joins SCAN as an advisor with a focus on risk management and sustainability. Ms Wirjawan currently serves as advisor to the Ancora Group and heads the Ancora Foundation, supporting scholarships, teacher capacity-building, and community learning. She brings over 20 years of experience spanning corporate and nonprofit boards, with a focus on finance, technology, entrepreneurship, and education.
She is also a visiting scholar at Stanford University’s Asia-Pacific Research Centre, and her research focused on women’s economic participation and resilience to climate change in the Southeast Asia region.
Ms Wirjawan’s extensive work in women’s empowerment and her involvement in various international and corporate engagement groups adds an important dimension to Sweef Capital’s mission to foster inclusive economic growth.
SCAN’s ranks have also been bolstered through the addition of former diplomat and business strategist, Mr Haike Manning, an executive leader with 25 years of diverse international experience in diplomacy, business, and commercial roles, with a particular focus on Southeast Asia. His advisory focus in SCAN is government relations and public affairs.
As New Zealand’s Ambassador to Vietnam, then as a senior business leader, Mr Manning has built broad expertise encompassing government relations, stakeholder engagement, strategic analysis, team leadership, high-level negotiations, and business development.
Mr Manning’s background in senior diplomatic roles and international trade negotiations, including his involvement in the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership and World trade Organisation fisheries subsidies agreements, gives him a unique perspective on the rapidly developing trade dynamics with the economies of Southeast Asia.
Sweef Capital Managing Director, Jennifer Buckley, said she was delighted Ms Wirjawan and Mr Manning had agreed to join SCAN and support the firm’s mission.
