Data is valuable in building a business case to support women’s contributions at multiple levels. Despite this many enterprises continue to treat their supply chain as a blind pool of homogenous companies, ignoring a huge asset hiding in plain sight.

Gender-disaggregated data enables businesses to better understand the issues that  disproportionately affect women in the supply chain and in workplaces as well, says Brianna Losoya-Evora, Sweef Capital’s Head of Impact Measurement and Management. For Tomás González Bergez, an expert in development and integration issues with social enterprise Pro Mujer, focusing on supply chains is a practical pathway to  improve equity and working conditions for women.
